General Rules & Regulations:
- Check-in & registration will be from Noon - 1:45 p.m. for all age groups, the first age division will begin promptly at 2 p.m.
- You will receive a contestant # and one complementary ticket for your chaperone upon arrival at the check-in table.
- There must be a minimum of 5 contestants per age division in order to hold the pageant for that age group (by the discretion of contestants and director).
- Only one chaperone is allowed backstage with the contestant due to limited space.
- One Parent/Guardian is allowed to escort young children 0-3 on stage during competition.
- Contestants must be a legal resident of Colorado or active duty military.
- The Miss Patriotic Colorado Pageant and Pikes Peak Community College - Centennial Campus will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.
- Entry fee is NON-refundable, unless your age division is cancelled.
- Contestants and parents/guardians will treat other contestants, parents, guardians, and pageant volunteers with sportsmanlike conduct. The Miss & Master Patriotic Colorado Pageant reserves the right to disqualify any contestant/parent/guardian who does not comply with this request.
- Queens/Kings are not required to participate in any community activity unless they chose to do so, if he/she chooses to participate in a community event wearing the Miss & Master Patriotic crown/banner, he/she must clear all appearances and/or interviews with Tiffany Sawyer @ 719-650-2440 PRIOR to the community event.
- All proceeds will be donated 100% to the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund (CFSRF).
- Miss & Master Patriotic Colorado Pageant is a non-profit organization with the sole purpose of raising money for the CFSRF.
- Parents/Contestants can receive feedback 2 weeks (August 2) after the pageant. Please call or email Tiffany to set up an appointment no earlier than April 1, 2010.
- All contestants must be a natural born female.
- The Miss & Master Patriotic Colorado Pageant is a state pageant only and will not advance to any National competition.
Competition Rules:
- Casual Patriotic Wear Competition & Introduction - Contestants should wear an outfit of their choice with an emphasis on a patriotic theme, i.e. Red, White & Blue. An example would be an outfit you would wear out for a day with your friends and something you can purchase "off the rack" at a store. Please no custom outfits, try to be as natural as you can. Contestants will be judged on poise, grace, confidence and personality. This portion of the competition will account for 30% of your score. Ages 4 and up will give an on-stage introduction prior to their modeling, this will account for 20% of their score. Introductions are not to exceed 30 seconds and may include your name, age, what city you live in and something interesting about yourself (i.e. hobbies, etc). Contestants will be judged on ability to speak clearly into the microphone, projection, poise, confidence and personality. Since contestants under the age of 4 will not have an introduction, their Casual Patriotic Wear Competition will account for 50% of their score instead of 30%.
- Formal Gown - Age appropriate gowns are required, see website for suggestions. Please no custom gowns, try to purchase "off the rack". This will account for 50% of their score. Contestants will be judged on poise, grace, confidence and personality. Personality winner will be selected based on stage presence and personality in both casual wear and formal gown.
- No Make-up rule - Contestants 12 and under are not permitted to wear make-up, if they judges see make-up on contestants 12 and under you will be marked down. In keeping with the spirit of the pageant, we encourage natural beauty. Contestants over the age of 12 are allowed to wear make-up within reason.
- Age Appropriate Attire - It is highly encouraged that you purchase "off the rack" outfits and gowns. The judges will be looking for a natural beauty inside and out!
Additional Competitions:

Photogenic - Available to all age groups. Submit one photo (black/white or color) no larger than a 5x7 no later than June 14, 2010. Your photo will be returned during check in/registration the day of the pageant.

Coloring contest (Ages 2-6 only) - Print off the age appropriate coloring sheet provided on www.misspatrioticcolorado.com. Please include the contestants' age and name on the back of the coloring sheet. Turn in no later than June 14, 2010.

Creative Drawing contest (Ages 7-9 only) - Submit a one (1) page drawing on why you are proud to be an American. Be creative!!! Turn in no later than June 14, 2010.

Essay (Ages 10 and up only) - One (1) page, typed or clearly handwritten, on why you are proud to be an American. Please fit your entire essay onto one side of the page because the winner's essay will be framed. Turn in no later than June 14, 2010.

Ticket Sales - Awarded to one contestant selling the most tickets to the pageant. Ticket cost is $5, 2 years old and under are admitted free, and one complimentary ticket is included in entry fee. Please call or email me the amount of tickets you have sold for the pageant day to get a tentative count, mail the check to the pageant office or bring with you the day of the pageant. Your tickets will be on “will call” at the check-in table the day of the pageant. SELL, SELL, SELL!!! Only one winner will be selected based on the amount of tickets she has sold. You can sell tickets up to the day before the pageant, please call Tiffany @ 719-650-2440 with your total number purchased no later than June 25, 2010.

Fundraiser Award - Awarded to one contestant who raises the most money for the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund. Please mail your fundraising money to the pageant office and have your check made out directly to “Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund”. Only one contestant will be selected based on who raised the most money. Please mail your fundraising money to the pageant office and have your check made out directly to “Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund”. You may also turn this in at the registration table the day of the pageant.

All additional competitions, with the exception of Ticket Sales, will be judged PRIOR to the pageant, so please meet the deadline of June 14, 2010, and get all of your information in on time.
Awards/Prizes:
- All queens will be awarded with a crown, sash, and a bouquet of flowers.
- Participants will receive a beautiful engraved medallion.
- Personality winners will receive a Miss Personality certificate.
- Photogenic winners will receive a 5x7 custom engraved picture frame.
- Coloring contest winners will receive a 8.5x11 custom engraved picture frame.
- Creative Drawing contest winners will receive a 8.5x11 custom engraved picture frame.
- Essay winners will receive a 8.5x11 custom engraved picture frame.
- Ticket Sales & Fundraiser winners will receive a custom engraved plaque.
- All contestants will receive a gift.
